Church Street - Updates & Progress Archive
CSX Transportation is soliciting proposals from pre-qualified design-build teams for a project to replace the Church Street Bridge over the CSX tracks in Garrett, Pennsylvania. Work will include demolition of the existing bridge, design and construction of a new bridge and roadway meeting current design standards and having a higher clearance over the railroad, re-profiling approach roadways, drainage, utility relocation or protection-in-place, and maintaining full detours for automobile and truck traffic during construction. The railroad will continue in operation during construction, and disruptions to the Borough of Garrett will be minimized.
To be considered for award, a contractor must be on CSX Transportation’s List of Pre-Qualified Design-Build Teams, and be represented at the Pre-Bid Meeting.
The Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 9:00 AM at the Garrett Volunteer Fire Department, 303 Jackson Street, Garrett, PA, and will be followed by a Site Visit. All participants in the Site Visit must be properly attired with all necessary personal protective equipment including hard hat, safety glasses with side shields, highly reflective safety vests, laced work boots at least 6 inches high with a safety toe, and hearing protection. No loose jewelry, including rings, is to be worn while on railroad property. No exceptions to these requirements will be allowed.
Proposal and Contract Document packages can be obtained by registering at the Project Document Management (PDM) website provided by CSX’s Construction Management Team-http://pdm.hillintl.com.
Questions concerning this project must be submitted via e-mail to [email protected]

Statements of Pre-Qualification are due May 20, 2011.
